Activity Improves Minds
Studies have shown that children learn best when the learning comes from a side-effect of a fun activity. We help children think creatively whilst learning important skills and developing a sense of self.

“Imagination disposes of everything; it creates beauty, justice, happiness, which is everything in this world”– Blaise Pascal
Prospect House provide and support positive relationships and safe, supportive and enabling environments for your child to develop their unique learning and development, at their own pace.
We keep daily records of your child’s learning journey which are shared with the individual’s parents and guardians with a secure log-in. We value your input as part of our partnership with parents.
We also love getting a bit messy sometimes!
Key Person
We place a high level of importance on the settling in process for our new children and families
We place a high level of importance on the settling in process for our new children and families
We understand that parents need a nursery that can meet with their individual circumstances
We offer flexible and comprehensive childcare to best suit the needs of your family including an hourly or day rate and term time only, or all year round contracts. Supported by our Team, the use of a Key Person approach within the setting allows us to build positive and rewarding attachments with the children in our care.
Family Partnership
The Key Person is responsible for a small group of children
Settling in visits are provided free of charge at a time to suit you and your child. During this time you and your child will get to know their Key Person. They will complete an All About Me form with you and find out information such as your preferred routines, what your child likes to do and what comforts them.
The practitioners remind the child that they are kept in mind by their parents and siblings by talking about home with them.
Your child’s Key Person will ideally greet you at the start of the day, and support both you and your child as you say goodbye. The Key Person will also be present at the end of the day, to discuss your child’s day and provide a link between home and the setting.
Each Key Person has a significant other, who covers for sickness, holidays and shorter shift patterns. The significant other provides a back up to keep disruption to a minimum.
Our Menus
The menus in nursery are carefully planned by our head chef, following advice from The Food Standards Agency. We offer children an opportunity to experience different foods and develop healthy eating patterns through our seasonal menus.

We offer children an opportunity to experience different foods and develop healthy eating patterns through our seasonal menus. Young babies are fed on demand and when they get older they are involved in family style meals. The children learn to set tables, serve themselves and share conversation. We are always happy to assist with special dietary requirements and support mothers who wish to continue breast feeding. Please do ask if you have any special requirements.

Supporting your routine
Each child’s individual needs for rest and quiet activities are catered for during the day.
Babies are fed and changed by their key person and can sleep according to their own routine.
Outdoor Play & Exercise
Outdoor Play
is an extension of the nursery, providing a safe and stimulating environment for each child.
The outdoors offers endless opportunities to have fun in the soft surface areas, explore nature in our wildlife gardens and enjoy planting, learning about how food gets from the seed to the table.
Mess Makes Memories
A Nurturing Setting Where Mess Makes Memories
Messy play is important for young children giving them endless ways to develop and learn, and is crucial for early learning and children’s development. Messy play helps children to improve physical skills and co-ordination, work together, use all their senses to discover and explore their environment, develop their imagination, think creatively and solve problems.
We believe that care and education are equally important in the experience which we offer children.
